Custom Furniture Refinishing*
Looking to restore a family heirloom or antique piece of furniture?
You may be surprised at what you can do yourself. Sometimes we may need an expert, especially if the piece is a valuable one. It is best to get the experts to handle these pieces.
But sometimes the bones are there and it may be time to learn something new. Time and patience will be your friend.
With an upholstered chair, it may only need the cover renewed. If the springs and webbing are in good condition then replacing the material may be all that is needed. Often times it is good to practice on a not so valuable piece that you can pick up at a second hand store or don’t forget the recycle tip store.
The timber frame may need attention too. Check it out, a few repairs may be all that is needed and may not be hard for you to achieve.
Things to look for when assessing a piece of furniture –
- Scratches, nicks, dents
