Try Chalk Paint to Repurpose, Restore, Relove

Deceased Estates & Auctions*

How many times have you heard about someone picking up a bargain at a garage sale that was for a deceased estate. Many times the family have no idea what an item is worth and as it has been in the family forever then to them it is not worth very much at all.

The best thing is, you simply like the item and to you it will have value as you can see how it will fit into your home. You can see the finish after restoring and repurposing to fit into that exact spot in your living room, kitchen. Study.

There are other items that will come up in a garage sale for a deceased estate, items in the bric-a-brac line. Wonderful urns, vases that could become a table lamp, glassware that will make a stunning display on your new bathroom cabinet. So many options, so many things to explore. Picture how you want your room to be, what style, you can even make a very old piece of furniture gain a new lwase of life by repurposing and restoring in a style that will suit the modern furniture you already have.

This is a wonderful part of repurposing furniture, it is once you take the piece from the room it was intended for and position it in the new room, then the style becomes adaptable to that new place and it is no longer the furniture piece that you purchased. It has a new life thanks to you.

When sourcing deceased estate garage sales or auctions, don’t be too keen to find the exact piece you have in mind. Actually going with an open mind can often lead to fantastic finds.

That box of  ‘what-evers’ can turn up really great finds, often antiques that the family didn’t really like, thought it was something won at the local show. How wrong can they be!
